Pls help stop dismantling of Senate rules

The media have described the battle in the U.S. Senate re- the use of the filibuster to block votes on extreme judicial nominees as just a “process” matter. Similarly, many of our most cherished rights under the Constitution are mere “process” matters.

The effort to block the “nuclear option” is important. Please write the following senators a.s.a.p.: Arlen Specter, Chuck Hagel, Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, Lincoln Chafee, Mike DeWine, Lindsey Graham, John Warner, Lisa Murkowski, Gordon Smith, plus your own senators. The right to filibuster judicial nominees is an important part of the checks and balances that have evolved as part of the government of our democratic society. The the far right seems intent on dismantling as many such checks and balances as possible. We the people have watched and seen as each capitulation has simply set the stage for the next incursion on the freedoms our forefathers died to protect.

It’s time for the line to be drawn. Please OPPOSE the nuclear option.
